European stock markets recover to close Thursday higher

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed higher on Thursday as they partially recovered from losses posted earlier in the week.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 3.27 points, or 0.85%, to end the fourth trading day of the week at 389.15

The UK's FTSE 100 increased 24 points, or 0.35%, to finish the session at 6,850. Germany's DAX 30 gained 183 points, or 1.5%, to end at 12,255.

France's CAC 40 rose 60 points, or 1%, to 5,879.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, soaring 319 points, or 1.56%, to 20,785.

Spain's IBEX 35 added 87 points, or 1.2%, to close at 7,348.
