European stocks close Tuesday in red

Major European indices suffer drops, falling by more than 2% at close, while Asian stocks closed with mixed figures

ISTANBUL (AA) - All major European markets closed Tuesday with negative figures, decreasing by over 2%.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, decreased by 10.07 points, or 2.18%, to 452.35.

The UK FTSE 100 index posted a decline of 0.5% or 35.3 points to 7,028.

Germany's DAX 30 also saw decline -- down 2.09% or 325.32 points -- to stand at 15,248 points.

The French CAC 40 dropped by 2.17%, or 144.41 points, to 6,506 points.

Italy's FTSE MIB went down by 559 points, or 2.14%, at 25,573, while Spain's IBEX 35 lost 233 points, or 2.59%, to 8,769.

Asia's major stock markets, meanwhile, closed with mixed figures amid ongoing Chinese developer Evergrande's debt crisis and a widening power shortage in China.

Turkey's BIST 100 index closed the day at 1,383.77 points with decline, down 0.53%.
