European stocks close Tuesday with gains

ISTANBUL (AA) – European stock exchanges closed with gains on Tuesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, rose 3.25 points, or 0.72%, to finish at 451.72.

France's CAC 40 was the best performer of the day, soaring 76 points, or 1.07%, to close at 7,220.

The UK's FTSE 100 added eight points, or 0.12%, to end the session at 7,282. Germany's DAX rose 117 points, or 0.75%, to 15,790.

Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, increased 189 points, or 0.68%, to 28,061.

Spain's IBEX 35 added 78 points, or 0.85%, to end the day at 9,331.
