European stocks open lower on Monday

STOXX Europe 600 benchmark index drops by 0.42% shortly after opening

ANKARA (AA) - European stocks on Monday opened lower amid concerns over rising global interest rates and recession risks, along with the resurgent COVID-19 outbreaks in China.

The STOXX Europe 600 benchmark index decreased by 0.42% to 432.62 points at 0809GMT.

Germany's DAX 40 index diminished by 0.26% to 14,393.78 points.

The UK's FTSE 100 index went down 0.32% to 7,361.78 points and France's CAC 40 index slipped 0.25% to 6,6628.10 points.

Spain's IBEX 35 index, on the other hand, rose by 0.11% to 8,136.77 points, while in Italy, the MIB 30 index dropped 0.64% to 24,518.
