European stocks start Tuesday looking up

STOXX Europe 600 index rises 0.11% to 433.3 points

ANKARA (AA) - European stocks opened Tuesday with gains amid fresh economic data.

Earlier in the day, official figures showed the annual inflation rate was at 6.2% in France and 7.3% in Spain in October.

In the UK, the unemployment rate exceeded expectations by hitting 3.6% in September, official figures showed.

The STOXX Europe 600 index rose 0.11% to 433.3 points and Germany’s DAX 40 was up 0.17% to 14,337.

The UK’s FTSE 100 increased 0.1% to 7,392 points, while France’s CAC 40 soared 0.39% to 6,635 points.

In Spain, the IBEX 35 index was up 0.11% to 8,175 points, and Italy’s MIB 30 rose 0.22% to 24,651.
