Ex-Olympique Lyon defender sidelined for 'inappropriate behavior' in dressing room

French media says Marcelo 'farted,' had fun with one of his teammates after Lyon lost 3-0 against Angers in August

ANKARA (AA) - Former Olympique Lyon defender Marcelo was sidelined for his "improper" behavior after a French league defeat last August, a French media outlet said on Tuesday.

According to L'Equipe, the 34-year-old Brazilian "farted" and had fun with one of his teammates at Lyon in the dressing room after the club lost to Angers 3-0.

His "inappropriate behavior" did not go down well Juninho Pernambucano, a longtime Olympique Lyon midfielder who was then the French club's sporting director. The 47-year-old stepped down in December.

Marcelo was a Besiktas defender and helped win back-to-back Turkish Super Lig titles in 2016 and 2017. He joined French club Bordeaux in January on a six-month deal.
