Explosion in Somali capital, casualties feared
Suicide bomber detonated explosives outside hotel, say local reports
MOGADISHU, Somalia (AA) – An explosion has occurred in front of a hotel in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, on Saturday afternoon.
The Somali National News Agency reported that the attack was perpetrated by al-Shaabab militants who exchanged gunfire with security agents after the explosion.
The Somali National News Agency also reported that the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber.
Several Twitter reports mentioned casualties but there has been no confirmation as of yet.
