Families of July 15 martyrs arrive at Istanbul rally

ISTANBUL (AA) - The families of some of the 240 people martyred during the July 15 coup attempt arrived at the Democracy and Martyrs’ Rally in Istanbul on Sunday.

The relatives attended a lunch arranged by the president’s office and the local office of the Justice and Development (AK) Party at the Feshane International Fair and Culture Center in the city’s Eyup district.

Ferries then took the guests to the rally area in Yenikapi, where the rally to mark the end of weeks of “democracy watch” rallies is being held.

A stage, television screens and sound systems have been erected in the area.
