Fenerbahce aim to beat Crvena Zvezda for playoffs race

Currently at 9th spot, Turkish club look for victory in Istanbul, a spot in top eight in EuroLeague

ANKARA (AA) - Fenerbahce Beko will host Serbia's Crvena Zvezda Mts Belgrade on Wednesday in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Fenerbahce Beko are currently in the ninth spot with a 12-14 win/loss record aiming for a spot in the top eight, thus qualifying to play in the league playoffs.

Over the past week, Fenerbahce Beko ended a two-game losing streak by defeating Valencia Basket from Spain with a 93-86 score.

The game will be at Ulker Sports Arena in Istanbul and will tip off at 8.45 p.m. local time (1745GMT).

In the regular season's first match, Crvena Zvezda toppled Fenerbahce Beko 68-56 in Serbia's capital Belgrade.

Fenerbahce Beko will play their 536th European game with 307 wins and 228 defeats. Friday's match will be the 333rd EuroLeague game for the Yellow-Canaries, who so far have 196 wins.

Turkey's Anadolu Efes will play against Israeli team Maccabi FOX at Menora Mivtachim Arena on Wednesday.

EuroLeague leaders Anadolu Efes had earned their 11th straight win after beating ALBA Berlin 99-86 last week.

Efes have already qualified for the playoffs with 23 wins and 3 losses in 26 games, with 8 weeks to go in the league.
