ANKARA (AA) – Fenerbahce Opet and Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley reached the semifinals of the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship on Friday.

Turkey's Fenerbahce defeated Brazil's Dentil Praia 3-1 on Thursday to reach the knockout stage.

Meanwhile defending champions Imoco Volley from Italy beat Dentil Praia 3-0 on Friday in a Pool A match to be in the semifinals.

Imoco Volley won this title in 2019 as the 2020 championship was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year's tournament is being held in the Turkish capital Ankara.

All the semifinalists will be named after the Minas vs. Vakifbank game in the Pool B on Friday.

Semifinal games will be held on Saturday while the final game will be played on Sunday.

Turkish club Vakifbank is the most medal-winning team of the organization held since 1991 – with three gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
