FIFA Appeal Committee confirms ban on former Spanish FA president Rubiales

FIFA Appeal Committee announced Friday that it confirmed a ban on former Spanish Football Association (RFEF) President Luis Rubiales.

A statement read that Rubiales behaved in a manner contrary to the principles enshrined under Article 13 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code during and after the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The decision remains subject to a possible appeal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, it added.

Rubiales, who kissed Jennifer Hermoso on the lips during celebrations, was banned from all football-related activities at the national and international level for three years.

The kiss also caused the majority of women's national team players to boycott the squad until Spain’s football federation underwent major reforms.
