Fintech firm Colendi appoints Deniz Guven to its board of directors

Guven will guide company to open up to new markets and product development efforts of our team, says company's CEO

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey-headquartered micro-lending and credit scoring Fintech company Colendi has appointed Deniz Guven, a well-known name in the banking sector, to its board of directors.

According to a statement from the company, Guven became the fourth person to join the board after Ian Hannam, the chairman of the board of Colendi UK, and founding partners Bulent Tekmen and Mihriban Ersin.

Tekmen, Colendi’s CEO, said they have established structures with companies and initiatives that can provide solutions that add value to the sectors they have implemented in Turkey as well as globally.

"The perspective of Deniz, who is brave, foresighted and experienced in implementing innovative business models, will guide us to open up to new markets and the product development efforts of our team," he said.

- Assignment accelerates Colendi’s overseas expansion

An important name worldwide in guiding digital services and offering new banking experiences, Guven started his international career in 2017 as the assistant general manager responsible for customer experience and digital services at Standard Chartered, which operates in 33 countries.

Here, he managed digital platforms and the customer experience journey and optimizations as well as collaborations with technology firms and startups.

He was subsequently appointed by Standard Chartered Bank as the founding CEO of Mox, a new generation bank in Hong Kong. He led the team of Mox, the first digitally licensed bank in Hong Kong, which is digital only and has grown rapidly with its personalized banking experience.

Currently the CEO and board member of Mox Bank, Guven is also the founding partner and CEO of PlatformXIT, a London-based angel investment platform.

Carrying its total valuation to $150 million, Colendi has accelerated its overseas expansion, especially in the UK and Ukraine.

Colendi, which won the "Most Innovative Microcredit Credit Platform" award at the 2021 Global Economy Awards organized by The Global Economics, one of the leading finance publications in the UK, continues to transform firms into financial technology companies through the smart services it has developed.
