Fintech firm Colendi appoints Inanc Balci to board of directors

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey-headquartered micro-lending and credit scoring Fintech company, Colendi, appointed Inanc Balci to its board of directors.

Balcı, a well-known name in the banking sector, became the fifth person to join the board after Chairman Ian Hannam and founding partners Bulent Tekmen, Mihriban Ersin and Deniz Guven, according to a statement from the company.

As co-founder of the global early-stage FinTech fund, Crestone Venture Capital, Balci worked as regional co-founder and local chief executive of the Lazada Group, a leading e-commerce company in Southeast Asia, before joining Crestone, in establishing the e-commerce ecosystem in the region.

Colendi's CEO Bulent Tekmen, with Balci, strengthened the management team, which started to operate in several countries, including Ukraine, after Turkey and the UK.

Expressing his satisfaction with the participation of Balcı, who is a key figure in their strategies to expand the scale of products and services they offer, Tekmen said, "We look forward to the new avenues that Balcı will open in front of Colendi. He has a unique experience and passion for promoting online growth."

Colendi has been accelerating its overseas expansion, especially in the UK and Ukraine.
