Football: Fenerbahce heads into league game with 6 wins

ANKARA (AA) - Fenerbahce will aim to bag another three points against Caykur Rizespor in the Istanbul side’s Sunday away match in the Turkish Super Toto Super Lig.

Fenerbahce is on top form as the team won its last six matches in the domestic league and the UEFA Europa League.

If Fenerbahce wins, the points difference with league leaders Medipol Basaksehir will be cut to six and with second-placed Besiktas to only four.

- No winners in battle of the undefeated

In Saturday evening's clash, Besiktas Medipol Basaksehir shared the spoils with a score of 1-1.

The two Istanbul teams, who have yet to be defeated in the league, only allowed other contenders to get closer.

Medipol Basaksehir's youngster Cengiz Under put his team up with a well-placed finish from a counter attack in 21st minute to shock the home side.

Resisting constant attacks from Basaksehir, Besiktas managed to equalize the score in the 51st minute from a corner kick.

Brazilian defender Marcelo Guedes found the net with a header from the corner to even the score at 1-1.

With the score, Basaksehir remained top of the league with 30 points and Besiktas stayed put at second place.
