Galatasaray defeat Bursaspor to narrow gap with Basaksehir as leader drew Kayserispor

ISTANBUL (AA) - Reigning champions Galatasaray cut the deficit with the leader Medipol Basaksehir to six points with Sunday’s win at Turkey’s top football league.

In the week 26 of Spor Toto Super Lig, Galatasaray defeated Bursaspor 3-2 to narrow the gap on Basaksehir as the leader drew Istikbal Mobilya Kayserispor 1-1.

As they reign over Turkey’s top football league, Basaksehir are at the top spot with 58 points, six more than their closest challenger Galatasaray.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce beat Demir Grup Sivasspor 2-1 on Friday in Istanbul.

The struggling Yellow Canaries have been suffering the worst season in their history, with only seven wins in 26 outings.

Fenerbahce are now at 13th place with 31 points, 27 points away from the top spot.

On Saturday, Besiktas defeated Goztepe 1-0 at home in Istanbul. They are on the third place with 47 points.
