Football: Turkey's Osmanlispor make history in Europe
Osmanlispor beat Swiss team Zurich 2-0 in Europa League Group L match as Ankara club qualify for last 32
ANKARA (AA) - Turkish football's dark horse Osmanlispor managed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League Round of 32 after winning against Swiss team Zurich 2-0 in Group L match in Ankara late Thursday.
The 2-0 victory made the Ankara club book their place for the next stage in the Europe's second-tier international tournament.
Midfielders Dzon Delarge and Erdal Kilicaslan were the scorers for Osmanlispor.
Osmanlispor finished the group as leaders. They have 10 points. Spain's Villarreal beat Romanian Steaua Bucharest 2-1 and completed group stage in second spot.
Meanwhile the other Turkish club Konyaspor lost against Belgian club Gent 1-0 at home.
Konyaspor finished Group H in the last place so they have been eliminated.
