For 12th time, police grill Israel PM over graft claims

JERUSALEM (AA) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday was questioned by Israeli police -- for the 12th time -- amid allegations of fraud.

According to Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth, investigators from a police anti-fraud unit arrived at the prime minister's Jerusalem residence on Friday morning to question Netanyahu.

The questioning, the newspaper added, would pertain to multiple cases in which he has been implicated.

While Netanyahu remains the subject of several separate corruption probes, he has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

In February, police recommended that Netanyahu be indicted for alleged corruption, saying there was now sufficient evidence to formally charge him in two separate graft cases.

The first case involves Israeli Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan, who was allegedly asked to purchase luxury items for Netanyahu and his wife.

The second relates to an alleged deal with Arnon Mozes, publisher of Yedioth Ahronoth, a Hebrew-language daily newspaper, for favorable coverage.
