Formula 1 fever continues with German Grand Prix

11th race of this season, German Grand Prix to be held in Hockenheim town on Sunday

ANKARA (AA) - The German Grand Prix of this season's Formula 1 is set to be held on Sunday.

Sunday's Grand Prix is the 11th race of the 2019 season as the competition will be held in a German town of Hockenheim.

The circuit length of the Hockenheimring track is 4.574 kilometers (2.842 miles) and the German Grand Prix will be held in 67 laps.

The first Grand Prix at Hockenheimring was held in 1970 and the lap record of the track was set by Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen, 39, in 2004 by one minute, 13 seconds and 78 split seconds.

Mercedes is dominating this season in Formula 1, winning nine Grand Prix out of 10.

Mercedes' British driver Lewis Hamilton won seven races this season, while his Finnish teammate Valtteri Bottas came first in two races in the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship.

Separately, Red Bull-Honda team's Dutch driver Max Verstappen was the winner in Austria.
