Galatasaray to face Schalke 04 in Champions League

ISTANBUL (AA) - Istanbul's Galatasaray will play against Germany's Schalke 04 on Wednesday in UEFA Champions League to win the 100th match in European competitions.

The match will kick off at 1900GMT at Galatasaray's Turk Telekom Stadium.

So far, Galatasaray have played 273 matches in UEFA competitions, winning 99 games and losing 103.

To date, the UEFA Champions League Cup has proved elusive for Turkish clubs, with the 'Lions' being the only Turkish club to have won the UEFA Cup in 1999-2000 and the 2000 UEFA Super Cup.

Galatasaray's other rivals in Group D are Portugal's Porto and Russia's Lokomotiv Moscow.
