Georgia reportedly foils Iranian plot to kill Israeli businessman
Israeli authorities yet to confirm allegation
JERUSALEM (AA) – An Iranian plot to kill an Israeli businessman in Georgia was allegedly thwarted, according to Israeli media on Tuesday.
Public broadcaster KAN said an Iranian cell consisting of a Pakistani citizen and a Georgian-Iranian national was arrested by Georgian police.
According to the news outlet, weapons, ammunition and cellular phones were confiscated by police.
KAN said the Iranian cell traced the Israeli businessman and was in contact with an Iranian national living abroad.
Israeli authorities have yet to confirm the allegation.
There was no comment from Iranian authorities on the report.
