Germany's unemployment rate at 3% in August

ISTANBUL (AA) - Unemployment in Germany was at 3% last month, down from 3.4% in August 2021, official figures showed on Friday.

There were 1.32 million unemployed people in the country as of this August, down 8.6% or 125,000 persons versus the same month last year, said Destatis, the Federal Statistical Office.

"Roughly 45.4 million persons resident in Germany were in employment in August 2022," it said.

It added that the number of employed people in August dropped 6,000 year-on-year.
