Greek inflation hits double digits for 1st time in 27 years
Price shoot up sharply in housing and utilities with 35.2%

ANKARA (AA) - Annual inflation in Greece rose to 10.2% in April from 8.9% in the previous month, the first double-digit rate in 27 years, the country’s National Statistical Service said on Tuesday.
Prices shot up sharply in housing and utilities with 35.2% and food and non-alcoholic beverages with 10.9% while remaining constant but still high for transport with 15.4%.
Inflation also accelerated, but to a lesser extent, in durable goods, household appliances and services with 4.2% and hotels, cafés, and restaurants with 3.8%.
Month-on-month, consumer prices went up 2.1%, slowing from a 2.7% advance in March.
