ANKARA (AA) – Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived on Monday in the Bulgarian capital Sofia on an official visit, Bulgaria's official news agency Bta reported.
In a joint statement issued after their meeting, Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said: “Together we can achieve more, especially in energy, common infrastructure and regional stability in the Balkans."
The heads of state agreed that the ongoing construction of the gas pipeline between Greece and Bulgaria should be completed as soon as possible.
Mitsotakis reiterated the importance attributed by his country to the relations with Bulgaria.
"We have common views on many topics. From now on, Athens and Sofia begin a new phase of their co-operation," he added.
The two leaders also discussed bilateral trade relations and further cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism, among other things.
