ISTANBUL (AA) - Regan Slater is Hull City's first-ever signing under the team’s Turkish-led ownership after completing his move from Sheffield United, the English football club confirmed Thursday.
“It’s definitely a good feeling (to be here). I’d been waiting on it since the summer. This is where I wanted to be and I’m delighted to be back," Slater said in a statement. “I can’t wait to meet the fans – we missed out massively last season not having the fans with us and sharing the journey we went on.”
The 22-year-old joined the Tigers after agreeing to a two-and-a-half-year contract with a club option of a further year for an undisclosed fee.
Slater spent the 2020/21 season on loan for Hull City, scoring one goal in 34 matches.
Acun Ilicali, the founder of the Turkiye-based Acun Medya company completed the purchase of the Tigers on Jan.19.
The Acun Medya Group was founded in 2004 and has since become a major international production company and broadcasting group.
Besides producing daytime and primetime content in Europe, South America and North America, the company operates two national mainstream television channels in Turkiye.
Hull City are ranked 19th in the English Championship League standings with 29 points in 27 matches.
