SINGAPORE (AA) - Indonesia on Wednesday affirmed its efforts to create peace between Palestine and Israel based on a two-state solution.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo met Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison on the sidelines of the 33rd ASEAN Summit in Singapore.

Widodo was accompanied by Wiranto, coordinating minister for politics, law and security, who goes by only one name, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, and Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita.

Marsudi said Indonesia believes a two-state solution is the right way to resolve the conflicts fairly.

"The President of the Republic of Indonesia once again expressed Indonesia's position and hoped that Australia could help realize a peace between Palestine and Israel based on a two-state solution," she said.

International communities have continued to express their concern for the escalating tension in the Gaza Strip since November 11.

At least 14 Palestinians have been martyred in Israeli attacks in Gaza since Sunday.

Since March 30, more than 200 Palestinians have been martyred by Israeli army gunfire -- and thousands more injured -- while taking part in ongoing rallies along the Gaza-Israel buffer zone.
