JAKARTA (AA) - Indonesia's vice president on Thursday voted for an image featuring a Gaza protest in Anadolu Agency's Photos of the Year contest.
Fifty images were selected for the 2019 contest from more than 750,000 photographs from different areas of the world, including Syria, Palestine, Russia, Germany and Spain.
The images were put to a vote in the news category which had 17 entries, life with 19 and sports had 14 entries with captions in Turkish and English languages.
Ma'ruf Amin selected the photo taken by photographer Hassan Jedi, which carries the title Great March of Return.
Voicing his hopes for peace in Palestine, Amin thanked for being given a chance to take part in the voting.
The vice president also praised Anadolu Agency ‘s presence in Jakarta with an office.
“Anadolu Agency covers developments in both countries directly. The news stories that AA [Anadolu Agency] transmit help Indonesia and Turkish people come closer and increase cooperation between the two countries,” he said.
