INFOGRAPHICS - English clubs dominate top tier UEFA tournaments

ISTANBUL (AA) - Four English teams will contest finals of the UEFA Champions and Europa Leagues for the first time in history.

Liverpool and Tottenham will face each other in the Champions League finals in Madrid. Chelsea and Arsenal will play the Europa League finals in Baku, Azerbaijan.

On Thursday, Arsenal and Chelsea beat their opponents and qualified for the finals.

In the second-leg, Arsenal beat Spanish club Valencia 4-2. Arsenal also won the first leg 3-1.

Chelsea beat Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt in a penalty shootout after a second straight draw between teams in the semifinals.

Turkish football giants Galatasaray beat Arsenal in the 1999-2000 UEFA Europa League final. This will be Arsenal's second Europa League final.

Chelsea too aims to win the cup for the second time.

The English clubs have ended domination of the Spanish clubs in recent years as they won nine cups in five years.

Two English clubs will face off in UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul, Turkey.

The 2019 UEFA Super Cup will be played at Besiktas' Vodafone Park in Istanbul on Aug. 14 as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League winners will go head to head.

The match will be the first in this competition played in Turkey, though Istanbul has previously hosted the UEFA Champions League final (2005, Ataturk Olympic Stadium) and UEFA Cup final (2009, Sukru Saracoglu Stadium).

The winners of UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League meet in UEFA Super Cup.
