Israel: COVID-19 cases exceed 32,000

JERUSALEM (AA) - The number of coronavirus cases in Israel rose to 32,222 Tuesday as 1,052 more people tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours.

Four more people died from the disease, bringing the total number of fatalities to 342, according to the country's Health Ministry.

So far, 18,227 people have recovered from the virus, while 86 people are in intensive care.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed over 543,000 lives in 188 countries and regions since originating in Wuhan, China last December.

More than 11.79 million cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries exceeding 6.41 million, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
