Israel detains Palestinian civilian for crossing border
Palestinian man accused of crossing Israel's naval border with Gaza, local media reports

JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army arrested a Palestinian civilian on Sunday for crossing border with the Gaza Strip by swimming, local media reported.
The Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth said the unarmed Palestinian was taken in for questioning, without providing further information.
The Israeli authorities, for their part, have yet to comment on the reported incident.
According to official statistics, the number of Palestinian detainees languishing behind bars reached 6,000, including 270 children and 52 women.
