Israeli army announces back to 'normal' life in settlements around Gaza
After night of weapons fire, residents instructed to stay near shelters in case rocket fire resumes

JERUSALEM (AA) - Israeli authorities on Friday announced a return to “normal” life in settlements near Gaza after a night of weapons fire between the Israeli army and Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza.
The Israeli army said in a statement that after assessing the field situation, it has lifted restrictions and residents can leave the shelters.
It instructed them, however, to stay near shelters in case rocket fire resumes.
The Israeli army decision came as the situation showed a state of relative calm on border areas with Gaza following an exchange of rockets overnight.
Israeli public broadcaster KAN said early on Friday that more than 40 projectiles had been fired from Gaza, with some of them intercepted, while others landed either in open areas or in the sea.
The Israeli army also launched a series of airstrikes overnight on alleged Hamas targets in Gaza and Lebanon.
The developments came after Israeli forces stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem and forcibly removed Palestinian worshippers for two nights in a row, drawing international outrage and condemnations.
