Israeli forces kill 'knife-wielding' Palestinian teen

WEST BANK (AA) – Israeli security forces Saturday shot and killed a Palestinian teenager who allegedly wielded a knife at them in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

Identified as Qutayba Ziad Yosuf Zahran, the 17-year-old was killed at the Zatara checkpoint in Nablus, said the ministry.

An Israeli female soldier was also slightly injured by a piece of shrapnel, according to an Israeli police statement.

Last month, another Palestinian teenager was killed by Israeli soldiers during clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli soldiers on the borders of Gaza, according to a Palestinian official.

At least 269 Palestinians, two Jordanian citizens and 47 Israeli security forces were killed during clashes and protests in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza since 2015, according to the official figures.
