JERUSALEM (AA) – An Israeli man was killed and three others injured in an alleged shooting attack in the southern West Bank, the Israeli military said Friday.
According to the Israeli army, a Palestinian opened fire on an Israeli-owned vehicle on Route 60 near the village of Al-Fawwar, south of the West Bank city of Hebron (Al-Khalil).
As a result, the car overturned, killing one passenger and injuring three others, the army said.
The wounded were later taken to hospitals, while army forces are now combing the area for the gunman, the army added.
According to Israeli figures, the latest deaths bring the number of Israelis killed in an ongoing uptick in Israeli-Palestinian violence -- which began last October -- to 40.
Over the same period, more than 220 Palestinians have been killed while allegedly carrying out attacks on Israelis or in clashes with Israeli troops or police.
