Israeli teen dies in stabbing, Palestinian shot dead

JERUSALEM (AA) - A 13-year-old girl was killed in a knife attack in an Israeli settlement in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, the Israeli military said.

The suspected Palestinian attacker was shot dead following the attack in the girl’s bedroom in the Kiryat Arba settlement, near the city of Hebron, the Israeli army said in a statement.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed Muhammad Nasser Turairah, 19, was killed by security guards.

The army said that the attacker also injured one of the security guards but The Times of Israel newspaper reported he was apparently accidentally shot by another guard.

Since last October, more than 30 Israelis have been killed in stabbing or car-ramming attacks while more than 200 Palestinians have been killed while allegedly carrying out such attacks or in clashes with Israeli armed forces.
