Israeli TV anchor apologizes for anti-Arab slur

JERUSALEM (AA) - An Israeli television anchor on Tuesday apologized for describing the Arabs as "savages".

Speaking in his TV show on Monday, Yaron London said "Arabs are savages, they kill themselves too."

"Arabs are savages. By the way, I accept this position, Arabs are savages. They don't just hate Jews, they kill themselves first and foremost, right, left, forward, east, west. Arabs slaughter Arabs. No problem with that. I haven't talked about Palestinians, I've talked about Arab culture," he said.

The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation described London as a "provocateur of yesteryear" and demanded that he apologize by midnight tomorrow.

On Tuesday, the TV presenter apologized for offending his audience, especially Arabs.
