Istanbul airport attack suspects to stand trial in Nov.

ISTANBUL (AA) - A total of 46 suspects will face trial at a court in Istanbul starting from Nov. 13 on charges of being involved in the terror attack on the port city’s airport last summer, according to a judicial source.

Out of the total suspects, 42 have been remanded in custody while four others remain fugitives, the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media, said.

The suspects stand accused of getting "membership in a terrorist organization," "willful murder" and "attempt to demolish the constitutional order".

Forty-five people were killed and more than 200 others injured at Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport on June 28 when three suicide bombers, all foreign nationals, opened fire and blew themselves up at the international terminal.

The trial will be held at Silivri prison, a high security area in Istanbul province.
