Japanese economy grows 3.5% in Q2

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Japanese economy is expected to grow 3.5% year-on-year in the second quarter, higher than the previous official expectation in August.

According to the Cabinet Office's official forecast, the country's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 0.9% in the second quarter versus in the previous three months.

The earlier projection had been 2.2% for annual growth and 0.5% quarterly.

Market expectations were around 2.9% for the country's GDP growth rate in the second quarter.
