AMMAN, Jordan (AA) - Jordanians rallied against high prices Saturday called for the resignation of the government.
They protested in Al-Karak city, in the southern part of the country and set fire to tires during the demonstration.
Rallies against high prices have been going on for the last three days.
Earlier this month, dozens of Jordanians demonstrated in central Amman to protest recent economic decisions by the government, including tax hikes and subsidy reductions.
In a bid to rein in a ballooning fiscal deficit, the government recently adopted controversial measures, including sales tax and fuel price increases as well as the lifting of bread subsidies -- moves that have drawn widespread public disapproval.
