Karabukspor 1st team to be relegated from Super Lig

ANKARA (AA) - Karabukspor became the first team to be relegated in Turkey's Super Lig's 2017/2018 season.

With only 12 points in 28 showings so far, Karabukspor will be unable to avoid relegation.

Founded 49 years ago by iron and steel workers, the club has been relegated in the Super Lig for the fourth time.

The club first participated in top division of the Turkish league in 1993/1994 season. They were relegated in the same season.

Coming back to the top division in 1996/1997 season, the club was relegated for the second time in 1998/1999 season.

The club's third spell in the Turkish top division came in 2010/2011 season. They were relegated in 2014/2015 season.

Advancing to the Super Lig in 2016/2017 season, Karabukspor could not avoid relegation in 2017/2018 season.

They are currently the league's most losing team with 22 losses, most conceding team with 65 goals, least scoring team with 19 goals.

They suffered the league's heaviest defeat to Galatasaray with 7-0, and have the longest streak in Super Lig of losing games with 11 matches.
