Kemal Bozkurt Elected School Committee Member of Lawrence, MA

Kemal Bozkurt was elected as the first Turkish American for the State of Massachusetts School Committee member for the City of Lawrence, MA.

Lawrence, has a Latino dominant population, it's urban city is about 30 minutes North of Boston. There are 6 school committee members and 9 city councilors and mayor as head of the school committee. Kemal Bozkurt is the first and only Turkish American who was elected in Lawrence out of 17 elected members.

Kemal Bozkurt is the current Acting Director for Lawrence Public Library. Mr. Bozkurt also served 12 years as a Zoning Board member for City of Lawrence as the first known Muslim American in MA. Kemal was also  elected three times for the Democrat Party  State delegate.
