ANKARA (AA) - Kenya on Thursday reported 780 new coronavirus cases, including 26 foreigners, and 10 fatalities, the country’s Health Ministry said.
Some 552 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the past 24, bringing the total number of recoveries to 53,526, the ministry said.
The total number of cases in the country has risen to 80,102, while the death toll reached 1,427 since the beginning of the pandemic.
As many as 6,158 virus tests were conducted in Kenya over the past day, the ministry said.
Besides the second wave of the coronavirus, Kenya is also facing the risk of a second wave of locust invasion in the country.
"Locusts are breeding in Ethiopia. It is projected that they might cross into Kenya around December," Cabinet Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture Peter Munya said last week.
