Kremlin congratulates Anadolu Agency on its centennial

Dmitry Peskov thanks Anadolu Agency for 'balanced and objective' coverage of Russian events

MOSCOW (AA) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov congratulated Anadolu Agency on its 100th anniversary on Monday.

In a letter of congratulations, Peskov said the agency, known as the official voice of Turkey, meets the highest world information standards.

"The agency is well known throughout the world as the official voice of the friendly Republic of Turkey. Over the past century, you have come a long way in terms of technological development and now you meet the highest world information standards," Peskov wrote.

He thanked the agency for "balanced and objective" coverage of the Russian events, particularly of those bearing importance for both countries.

"We especially appreciate your balanced and objective presentation of news related to our country -- the Russian Federation, as well as the bilateral partnership relations between Russia and Turkey.

"I wish you to hold your place among the leaders of the global information market," he said.

Anadolu Agency -- established on April 6, 1920 by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founding father of the Turkish Republic -- is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Since its establishment, the Ankara-based agency has worked to disseminate factual news across the globe with confidence, impartiality, professionalism, and speed.

It is viewed as one of the world's most prestigious news agencies, currently producing news in 13 languages and serving 6,000 subscribers in 100 countries with at least 3,000 employees stationed in 100 countries.
