ANKARA (AA) - A Kyrgyz-origin Russian national was identified as the main suspect behind Monday's deadly metro blast in St. Petersburg, Kyrgyz media reported on Tuesday.

Akbarzhon Jalilov, a 22-year-old male originally from Kyrgyzstan's Osh region, was reportedly identified by Kyrgyz intelligence.

An explosive device went off on a metro train on Monday afternoon, killing 11 people and injuring dozens more.

AKIpress reported the National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan -- the country's intelligence service -- had been in touch with the Russian authorities.

According to Russia's National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAK), Monday’s blast tore through a train at 2.40 p.m. local time (1140GMT) as it was traveling between Sennaya Ploshchad and Technological Institute stations.

Another device was found and defused at the city’s Vosstaniya Ploshchad metro station, the NAK added.

Kyrgyz media reported Jalilov was also being linked to the second device.
