La Liga: Real Madrid defeat Eibar 3-1 in away game

ISTANBUL (AA) - Real Madrid defeated Eibar 3-1 in a Spanish La Liga game on Sunday.

The away side's French star Karim Benzema scored an opener in the 9th minute of the match at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium.

Luka Modric doubled the lead in the 13th minute, while the third goal came from Lucas Vazquez in stoppage time.

Eibar's only goal was netted by Kike Garcia in the 28th minute.

With the win, second-placed Real Madrid increased their points to 29, whereas Eibar rank 14th with 15 points.

On Saturday, Atletico Madrid, who are atop of the table with 29 points in 12 games, defeated Elche 3-1.

Barcelona drew with Valencia 2-2, whereas Real Sociedad were beaten by Levante 2-1.
