ANKARA (AA) - LeBron James posted season high 40 points as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 118-109 at home on Tuesday night.
The Lakers pushed its winning streak to six games, 44th win of the regular season, beating the Pelicans at Staples Center.
Power forward Anthony Davis scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, a double-double to help his team.
Shooting guard Danny Green also finished with 17 points and five rebounds in Pelicans victory.
Pelicans' small forward Brandon Ingram helped his team with 34 points and seven rebounds, meanwhile rookie sensation Zion Williamson produced 29 points and six rebounds.
Following a strong performance, the 19-year-old Williamson has scored 20 points or plus in 9 straight games.
Meanwhile, according to ESPN sports network, LeBron James joined Kareem-Abdul Jabbar, Elgin Baylor & Kobe Bryant as the only Lakers with a 40-point game, being 35-year-old or older.
"LeBron is 18-0 when scoring 30 points in a game this season, the most wins without a loss in 30-pt games to start a season in NBA history." ESPN said on its Twitter account.

Milwaukee Bucks, Eastern Conference's No.1 team that already clinched spot for the 2019-20 playoffs, defeated the No. 2 seed in the East, the Toronto Raptors, 108-97.
The Bucks small forward Khris Middleton scored 22 points and eight rebounds as Greek star Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 19 points, 19 rebounds and eight assists to make double-double.
For the reigning NBA champion Raptors, Pascal Siakam scored 22 points and six rebounds while Fred VanVleet produced 14 points at Scotiabank Arena.
