DAKAR, Senegal (AA) - Senegalese President Macky Sall took the oath of office for a second term Tuesday in Diamniado, a city near Dakar, the West African nation's capital.

Sall promised he would serve the Senegalese people and urged the country to begin constructive and comprehensive dialogue. He also encouraged them to maintain the country’s tradition of being a peaceful, stable, and inclusive country.

Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan was among the guests at the International Fair and Conference Center, the Turkish-built facility where the inauguration was held.

Sall won the elections on Feb. 24 with 58 percent of the vote, besting four rivals.

Distinguished guests at the inauguration included Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, Gambian President Adama Barrow, former French President Nicholas Sarkozy, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and a host of African leaders.
