- U.S. President Donald Trump imposes sanctions on Iran’s iron, steel, aluminum and copper sectors as tensions between the rivals escalates.

- A total of 21 countries in the European Union heads to ballot boxes to vote in European Parliament (EP) elections.

- Numerous people are killed and wounded when airstrikes by the Assad regime hit the de-escalation zone of Ariha in Idlib, Syria. The buildings and workplaces are heavily damaged and people begin evacuating the region.
