Malaysian king visits Turkish defense firm in Ankara

ANKARA (AA) - The king of Malaysia visited a Turkish defense systems company on Wednesday alongside Türkiye's national defense minister in the capital Ankara.

On an official visit to Türkiye, King Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Hulusi Akar inspected the production facilities of armored military vehicle maker FNNS Defense Systems.

After being briefed on the vehicles, Billah Shah and Akar test-drove some of them.

They also watched footage of the vehicles in use.

The Malaysian king and queen, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, touched down in Türkiye on Tuesday and will remain in the country until Aug. 21.

After their arrival, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave the Malaysian king the Order of the State of the Republic of Türkiye -- the highest state order awarded to foreign nationals -- and Billah Shah gave Erdogan the Order of Chivalry of his country.
