Manchester United knock PSG out of Champions League

ANKARA (AA) - Manchester United bagged UEFA Champions League quarter final ticket after they eliminated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from the tournament by winning on away goals late Wednesday.

The PSG were surprisingly beaten by Manchester United 3-1 in the second leg of round 16 in Paris.

Manchester United's Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku scored an early goal, PSG left back Juan Bernat netted the equalizer.

In the 30th minute, Lukaku scored the leading goal for Manchester United again.

Visitors' forward Marcus Rashford converted a very late penalty successfully, which brought the 3-1 victory for Manchester United.

So, the English side qualified for the quarter finals in the Champions League.

The PSG had won the first leg 2-0 in Manchester but the French giants were eliminated over the 3-1 loss at Parc des Princes.

In the other game of the night, Porto beat Italy's Roma 3-1, eliminating them after extra time in Portugal.

The first half of the second leg at Estadio do Dragao ended 1-1 as Porto forward Francisco Soares and Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi scored.

Porto forward Moussa Marega scored the leading goal for his team in the 52nd minute and the game went to extra time over the 2-1 Porto lead.

Former Galatasaray left back Alex Telles sealed the last 8 phase for Porto, scoring a penalty in the 117th minute.

Roma had won the first leg 2-1, however Porto proceeded on their way in the Champions League.

The Champions League last 16 round will end next week.
