Microsoft cloud services down globally, affecting some products

Tech firm says it has connected services to additional infrastructure to expedite recovery process

ISTANBUL (AA) - US multinational technology giant Microsoft's cloud services were down globally on Wednesday, affecting some of its products such as Outlook.com and Microsoft Teams.

"We're investigating issues impacting multiple Microsoft 365 services ... We’ve isolated the problem to networking configuration issues, and we're analyzing the best mitigation strategy to address these without causing additional impact," Microsoft 365 Status said on Twitter.

The company said it has rolled back a network change that it believes causing the impact, and also connected its services to additional infrastructure to expedite the recovery process.

The issue came hours after Microsoft announced its financial figures late Tuesday. Its revenue rose just 2% in the October-December period of last year, marking the slowest increase in the firm’s history since 2016.

Its cloud revenue, however, jumped 22% to $27.1 billion year-on-year.

Microsoft 365 includes online services such as Outlook.com, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and programs that were formerly part of Microsoft Office.
