Microsoft income, revenue increase in July-September period

ANKARA (AA) - Microsoft saw its income and revenue increase during the July-September period compared to the same period one year ago, according to a financial statement released Tuesday.

Net income rose to $20.5 billion, up 47.5% from $13.9 billion in the same period of 2020.

Revenue increased 22% to $45.3 billion, from $37.1 billion.

Microsoft's Office commercial products and cloud services revenue increased 18% and LinkedIn revenue increased 42%, it said.

The company said it returned $10.9 billion to shareholders in share repurchases and dividends in the quarter.

Amid strong results, the company's stock price rose 1.4% in after-hours trading on the Nasdaq.
